Tankor (B/A), May 5, GNA - A leading member of the Nkoranza North constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Sunday met at Tankor, a farming community in the area to elect a 13-member interim executives to steer the affairs of the party in the newly created Nkoranza North constituency.
Addressing the members of the party after the elections, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Chairman Alhaji Collins Dauda urged the executives to ensure firm unity and cooperation among them in carrying out all their activities in order that they would be able to mobilise more people to vote for the party to win the December elections.
Alhaji Dauda stressed the need for the executives to respect the views and ideas of the members in order that they would be able to address any challenges that would confront the party in the constituency.
He urged them to mount vigorous campaigns in the communities by visiting the people in their households to convince them to vote for NDC for a resounding victory, come the December general elections.
Alhaji Dauda urged the supporters of the party in the area to give the needed support to the executive members to enable them effectively carry out their activities to promote the development of the party.
The Nkoranza constituency NDC chairman Mr. Yaw Owusu Baffoe advised the members to shun away from petty squabbles, gossiping and back-biting as, such negative practices would have an adverse effect on the development of the party.
Mr. Baffoe praised the entire members of the constituency executives for their joint efforts in carrying out a number of activities to maintain the party in the area after its defeat in the 2000 general elections.
He stressed the need for the newly-elected interim executive members to be dedicated and committed in performing their activities without considering the gains they would make, for their reward would follow after the party had won the general elections.
Mr. Hayford Francis Amoako the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Nkoranza who hails from the South Constituency announced that he would contest for the seat in the area.
He commended the Government for creating two constituencies for Nkoranza to promote the accelerated development of the district and urged the members of the party to remain faithful and committed to the party and mobilise more people to vote NDC to power during the December polls.
The elected executives are, Mr. Philip Kwabena Kyeremeh was elected chairman, Mr. Opoku Mpianim, Assistant Chairman, Mr. Adu Bediako, Secretary, Mr. Frank Baidoo, Assistant Secretary, Miss Comfort Foriwaah, Treasurer, Mr. Kofi Addo, Organiser, Mr. Effah Sarkodie, Assistant Organiser, Mr. Oscar Appiah Kubi, Youth Organiser, Mr. Nicholas Donyina, Assistant Youth Organiser, Mr. Solomon Fosu alias Osofo Tollo, Propaganda Secretary, Mr. Paul Nsiah, Assistant Propaganda Secretary and
Ms. Janet Owusuaa, Women's Organiser. Present at the meeting were Mr. Anane Adjei, Mr. Justice Samuel Adjei, Mr. Ampaabeng Kyereme and Mr. Kwasi Oppong, all from the regional office of the party. 05 May 04
