NDC executives support students with educational materials

The executives of Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Greater Accra Region a couple of days ago stormed the various Primary and Junior High Schools in the constituency to assist them with educational materials to help the students obtain better grades in the upcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Although some of the schools within the constituency are rated as the best schools in the country, the executives believed they should support the government to attain its vision in the educational sector and also, promote the NDC agenda for the 2016 General elections.

The schools that benefited were: “ Dzorwulu Junior High School, Abelempke Basic Schools, Bawaleshie Primary/ J.H.S and University Primary”

Presenting the items to the schools, the Constituency Chairman of Ayawaso, Mr. Ibrahim Jajah advised students to take their studies seriously in order to be globally competitive on the job market.

In his view, education was a catalyst for accelerated development of every nation and therefore urged the students to learn hard to attain higher educational laurels to enable them take up future challenges.

“If you give your all towards your education today, you would grow into responsible adults who would contribute their quota towards the development of the nation,” he admonished.

The Chairman condemned parents who were in the habit of physically assaulting teachers over the treatment of their wards.

He said sometimes teachers got beaten up over issues that could have been handled in a much more civil manner.

Mr. Jajah said he would do all in his power to ensure that laws were made to protect teachers from being assaulted.

He urged parents not to shirk their responsibilities towards their children but to ensure that the children had good education, which ensured their future success.

Madam Stella Tsekpo, Headmistress of Dzorwulu Junior High School, who received the educational materials on behalf of 6 schools in the constituency thanked the chairman and his executives for the gesture and urged them to continue to help the schools since this is the first time a political party has supported in cash and kind.
