NFED supervisors undergo training in riding

Nkoranza (B/A), July 8, GNA- About Forty-six Supervisors of the Non-Formal Education Division in Brong Ahafo are undertaking a six-day training in motorbike riding at the Nkoranza Secondary Technical School. They were drawn from Nkoranza, Techiman, Sene, Atebubu and Kintampo districts.

The exercise is aimed at equipping the supervisors with the right knowledge and skills in the handling of motorbikes, their maintenance as well as riding on the highway.

Six technical training instructors from the Vita Consultancy Services at Tema are leading the participants in the training exercise.

Mr Bob Tetey-Gai Doku, head of the team advised the participants to attach great importance to the exercise and to adhere to all instructions to avoid accidents. He urged them to wear helmets whenever they rode to save themselves from fatal accidents.

Mr Doku advised them to also switch on their lights whenever they rode to draw the attention of other road users of their presence and to wear white shirts when travelling in the night.

In an address read for him, Mr. Kwasi Oppong, Regional Director of Non-Formal Education Division, advised the supervisors to handle their Motorbikes with care and to be cautious on the roads to save themselves from accidents.

He warned against riding under the influence of hard drugs or alcohol.
