NGO Presents Litter Bins to Adaklu-Anyigbe Assembly

Kpetoe, Aug 2, GNA - Nature Conservation Research Centre, an Accra-based Non-Governmental Organization has presented 13 Dino suspension and ten 240-litre capacity bins worth GHc 2,500 to the Adaklu-Anyigbe District Assembly (AADA) at a short ceremony at Kpetoe, the district capital.

Mr Alexander Aryeetey, Construction Coordinator of the Centre told the Ghana News Agency that their gesture was in line with its social responsibility of creating public awareness on environmental consciousness and cleanliness. He said with funding from the European Union, the Centre supports eco-tourism and environmental regeneration.

Mr Michael Adzaho, District Chief Executive of AADA, receiving the rubbish bins thanked the Centre for their generosity and pledged that the Assembly would soon enact environmental bye-laws to serve as benchmarks on environmental issues. He appealed to other NGO's to emulate their example towards facilitating their mandate of providing clean environment.
