The Aids Orphans Support Centre, a local Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region, has donated assorted items to marginalised children in two districts, in the Region.

The items, which comprised educational materials, food items, soap, and school uniforms, were distributed to 190 orphans and vulnerable children at Zebilla, in the Bawku West District, and Sumbrungu, in the Bolgatanga Municipality.

Madam Hannah Arongo, Project Coordinator of the NGO, disclosed this to the GNA in an interview at Sumbrungu, on Wednesday.

She said the package, which was estimated at several hundred of Ghana cedis, was meant to assist the children in their education and also uplift their living conditions.

She said the NGO which was established in 2001 at Zebilla, aimed at improving quality lives for families and communities affected by HIV/AIDS, as well as empowering and restoring them to gain the hope of living longer.

She commended the Ghana AIDS Commission and the Mission of Hope, who, through the Adventist Development Relief Agency supported her outfit, which enabled them to meet the needs of the beneficiaries.

She appealed to them to continue to support the NGO so that it would be able to reach wider targets.
