Glorious Vision Orphanages, a non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Agona Swedru, has paid health insurance premium for 100 poor pupils of Asifaw District Assembly Primary School in the Akuapem North District.

The Executive Director of the NGO, Mr William Yirenkyi, disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday at Asifaw.

Mr Yirenkyi said, when he visited Asifaw recently, he found out that some school children were not registered for the National Health Insurance Scheme because their parents were poor.

He said apart from seeking the health needs of people, especially school children in the area, the NGO would provide them with potable water.

Mr Yirenkyi said since the establishment of the NGO in 2009, it has assisted poor but brilliant school children in the Central Region with school uniforms, books and other learning materials.

He appealed to school children to study hard to enable them to pass their examinations, and asked parents to invest in the education of their children.**
