Kumasi, March 9, GNA - Non-Aligned Ghana, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), has praised Ghana for successfully adhering to the rule of law and democratic principles under the Fourth Republican Constitution. It urged opinion and political leaders, social commentators and stakeholders to work hard to sustain the trend to further boost the socio-economic and political stability of the nation. This was contained in a statement signed by Mr. Emmanuel Senyo Korsi, Public Relations Officer of the organisation in Kumasi at the weekend to coincide with Ghana's 52nd Independence Day Anniversary.

The statement warned the citizenry to shun discrimination, indiscipline and ethnicity and be committed to fostering unity through good neighbourliness. It indicated that it was only through unity that the nation could look into the future with optimism, adding that, most Sub-Saharan African Nations who had independence with Ghana around the same time had been thrown into political turmoil as a result of ethnicity.

The statement called for support for Government in its developmental agenda to help Ghana to reduce poverty, diseases, high rate of unemployment and other social vices to justify the assertion that "The black man was capable of handling his own affairs".
