The New Patriotic Party's parliamentary candidate for Dome-Kwabenya constituency, Michael Oquaye Jr. participated in a tree-planting exercise as part of the "Green Ghana Project," initiated by President Akufo-Addo.

The team, led by Mike Oquaye Jr., planted trees at Kwabenya Senior High School, Dome Cluster of Schools, Taifa Polyclinic, and Abokobi Hospital, with the aim of enhancing the ecological landscape of Dome-Kwabenya and increasing the nation's vegetation cover.

This effort by the team received commendations from local stakeholders, who recognized its positive impact on community and national sustainable development.

Dr. Nafisa Alhassan, Senior Medical Officer in charge at the Abokobi Health Centre, commended the initiative, stating, "As our incoming MP, this is a very good initiative, and we're all happy you're contributing to the community's and the nation's sustainable development. We love your energy and the fact that this aligns with the thinking of the Ghana Health Service, as we encourage tree planting as a health enhancer.”

In addition to supporting environmental conservation, the Dome-Kwabenya Parliamentary aspirant demonstrated his commitment to community welfare by donating four sets of jerseys to the Dome Cluster of Schools and engaging with drivers and station masters of GPRTU-Abokobi to share his plans for the constituency.

Prior to this, he donated ten thousand Ghana cedis (GH¢10,000) to the Kwabenya SHS conservation and health initiative.

Michael Oquaye Jr.’s proactive engagement showcases his multifaceted approach to leadership, where environmental consciousness is combined with tangible community support.

These initiatives serve as significant steps towards a greener, more prosperous future, aligning with the nation's goals for sustainable development.
