As part of efforts in strengthening the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and readying it for the 2020 polls, a parliamentary aspirant has donated to the Tolon Constituency in the Northern Region.
Alhaji Habib Iddrisu who is a very known face in the area disclosed that it is part of his personal initiative in ensuring the party is on a sound footing to consolidate its gains made in the area in view of the fact the parliamentary seat is being occupied by the party.
The NPP won the Tolon seat from the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Umar Abdul-Razak who it is reported lost favour with constituents who were yearning to see his exit from parliament after being accused of failing to facilitate development.
Hitherto 2012 and 2016, the NDC had dominated the constituency since 1992 until the NPP took over and is consolidating more gains.
As part of his contributions in this respect, he donated two hundred (200) plastic chairs, canopies and a brand new tricycle commonly referred to as motoring to the youth wing he described as critical in party organisation. Related Posts
He appealed to residents to have faith in the Akufo-Addo led administration to deliver on its mandate to Ghanaians adding that no area will be denied its share of the national cake.
Alhaji Habib Iddrisu took the opportunity to express interest in wrestling the Tolon seat on the ticket of the party and called on all and sundry to rally behind him in his bid promising good times under his watch as the lawmaker of the area.
Receiving the items on behalf of the party, the Northern Regional NPP Youth Organiser, Mohammed Alhassan Ghana commended Alhaji Habib Iddrisu for the gesture and indicated how happy the party is to receive such level of support.
He tasked other persons who hail from the area to emulate the example of Habib explaining that it is these gestures that work in the common good of the party to realize its dream beyond 2020.
