NPP can’t afford to disappoint Akufo-Addo in North East Region - Secretary
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been challenged to improve its performance in the North East Region in order to consolidate gains made in the 2016 elections.
Regional Secretary of the party, Sulley Sambian who made this known in an interview with the media after visiting some district Registration Centres in the region, observed that the party in the region is challenged by the president’s performance and will not disappoint him in 2020.
He challenged branch, constituency and regional officers of the party to work harder and trumpet the achievements of the current administration which to him is far better compared to the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.
“We are all witnesses to the successes chalked by this government in this region. We are leaving nothing to chance and that is how come we are taking this registration exercise very seriously. Even though we beat the NDC in the 2016 elections, we are determined to trounce them again by a wider margin. This however cannot be achieved if we are complacent and fail to tell the true story of what we have achieved”, he revealed.
Lawyer Sulley Sambian enumerated among other things the creation of the region, the establishment of the drone centre in Wulugu, the awards of major roads for construction in the area and more importantly plans in the offing to upgrade health facilities with state of the art equipment to function effectively.
All these he indicated, have been done in less than three years of the administration of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who has been ably supported by the son of the North East Region, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
“We cannot afford to lose all these successes to a clueless and an incompetent administration like the NDC which reversed the fortunes of the country in the pursuit of a clandestine agenda”, he stated .
