Saltpond, March 12, GNA - The Mfantseman West constituency chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr James Dennis Ehuren has cautioned supporters of the party in the area against involving themselves in registration malpractices, such as the registration of minors and multiple registration.
Speaking at a training workshop for the party's polling station executives at Saltpond, Mr Ehuren urged them to use laid down procedures for challenging people suspected to be unqualified to register saying "as much as possible let us avoid taking the laws into our own hands."
More than 600 executives from the 134 polling stations in the constituency have so far benefited from the training workshops held at Aboadze Dominase, Mankessim, Saltpond, Kormantse, Anomabo and Yamoransa. Mr Ehuren advised them to be vigilant at the centres so as to detect any malpractice and report to the appropriate authorities.
Miss Esi Dankwa, the constituency Women's Organiser advised the executives to encourage not only NPP supporters but also supporters of other political parties to register since the compilation of a credible voters register was so crucial to the advancement of the nation's democratic dispensation.
