NPP to challenge aliens who attempt to register

Begoro (E/R), Mar. 15, GNA- The Eastern Regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Adi Ankama, has called on party agents assigned to the voters registration centres to be vigilant but circumspect to challenge any aliens who might want to register as a voter.

Speaking at a day's sensitisation seminar for the agents in the Fanteakwa constituency at Begoro on Thursday, he, however, reminded them that they should be prepared to defend their stand to any suspected aliens or unqualified person before the authorities.

He asked party activists to educate the public and impress on the party's supporters to register during the exercise.

Nana Adi Ankama who asked them to embark on a house-to-house electioneering campaign, assured that the party would put the necessary structures in place and provide the requisite logistics to enable it obtain a first round victory in the December elections.

The Fanteakwa constituency chairman of the party, Mr Kofi Asare Lartey, urged party supporters to be steadfast and rally behind the party in time of difficulties, warning however that any one who divulged party issues to the public would be dealt with.

The constituency organiser of the NPP, Mr Kwame Appiah Kodua, announced that the Electoral Commission had created seven new polling stations in the town for which agents are to be appointed to man them during the registration exercise.
