The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Youth Organizer for the New Juaben North Constituency in the Eastern Region, Samuel Osei Sarkodie, has been adjudged the Youth Political Activist and Most Influential Youth of the Year on Wednesday.

The young, enterprising politician, who is affectionately known in the political community as SOS, received the enviable awards at the fourth edition of the Golden Age Business and Creative Arts Awards.

The Golden Age Business and Creative Arts Awards (GACA) are a duly registered, prestigious award scheme in Ghana produced by Dolphin House Productions. The award ceremony is usually held during Ghana Month or on Founder's Day.

This year’s awards ceremony was held on May 1 at La Palm Royal Beach to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to national development over the years.

Speaking with the media shortly after the event, Samuel Osei Sarkodie, who is also the Head of Finance at Joy Industries Limited, producers of Joy Dadi Bitters, among other herbal products, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to his employers at Joy Industries Limited for their consistent support.

He is a former student of Prempeh College who boasts a Master's in Business Administration (Finance option) and an MSc in Energy and Sustainable Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He further thanked the youth in New Juaben North and across the country for recognizing his modest efforts and contributions to empowering and developing the youth.

He said he didn't know that his modest contributions towards creating an enabling environment as well as improving the economic paradigm of the youth within and outside his constituency would be recognized.

The young man, who also holds a PhD in Finance Candidate at the Atlantic International University, United States of America, as well as an MPhil in Business Administration and Accounting at the All Nations University in Koforidua, averred that he is always motivated to help because that is the overarching principle of life.

The former President of the Junior Common Room (JCR) for Akuafo Hall at the University of Ghana, without mincing words, mentioned that the award would stimulate him to contribute more in any small way in order to progress and impact society.

He took opportunity of the ceremony to urge all youth to prioritize their future and elect leaders with bold solutions that will foster the development and collective interest of the youth in the upcoming general elections.

"Let us work together to build a brighter future for ourselves and generations to come," he said.
