Nkawie (Ash), May 23, GNA - The Atwima-Nwabiagya National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) is to spend 2.7 billion cedis on agric-business module for 2007 major and minor farming seasons. The programme covers crop farming, grasscutter rearing and bee keeping.
Nkawie (Ash), May 23, GNA - The Atwima-Nwabiagya National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) is to spend 2.7 billion cedis on agric-business module for 2007 major and minor farming seasons. The programme covers crop farming, grasscutter rearing and bee keeping. Statistics released to the Ghana News Agency and signed by Mr Michael Amoah Awuku, the District Coordinator of NYEP at Nkawie, showed that a total of 450 youth will be engaged under agriculture, 50 under the grass cutter rearing while 35 youth will be engaged in bee-keeping. Mr Awuku mentioned the acquisition of land as some of the major challenges facing the programme and appealed to traditional rulers to release land to ensure the success of the programme.
