Nana Kwaku Boateng Basic School Complex in Koforidua has launched its 50th anniversary celebration aimed at bringing all stakeholders together to contribute towards transforming the institution into a centre of excellence.
The anniversary would be celebrated under the theme, “basic education a tool for societal change”.
Mrs Docia Abban, the New Juaben Municipal Director of Education who launched the anniversary, encouraged the school to put all challenges behind them and forge ahead.
She urged stakeholders of the school to continue to support the school so that it grows to become one of the best basic schools in the Eastern Region.
Mrs Abban appealed to teachers of the school to use their contact hours to teach effectively so that the school would continue to produce responsible people to contribute positively towards the development of the country.
Ms Beatrice Owusu, Chairperson of the School Management Committee (SMC), explained that the anniversary was to rally all stakeholders and remind them of their roles and responsibilities towards the development of the school.
Odehye Nana Tupen, an old pupil of the school, appealed to all old pupils of the school both in and outside the country to come and contribute their quota towards the development of the school.**
