National Security officials invigilate BECE re-sit

Officials of the National Security will be in charge of invigilation of the re-sit of the cancelled papers of the Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) which kicks off today, June 29, 2015.

According to the Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Tertiary, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the security officials will be in charge of selecting of examination questions, printing of papers and distribution throughout the two-day period as part of government effort to enhance security.

The five cancelled papers were English Language 2, Religious and Moral Education 2, Integrated Science 2, Mathematics 2, and Social Studies 2.

On the occasion of the re-sit of the cancelled papers in the BECE, the Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Pre-Tertiary said: “I wish you well and also encourage you to remain strong in order to overcome all the challenges that you may encounter.

“I entreat all of you never to allow the recent examination leakages to have any psychological effect on you. Indeed, your teachers, parents and well-wishers will continue to support you.

“I therefore, urge you to conduct yourselves properly in accordance with the rules and regulations governing the examinations to enhance its credibility.”

He added: “All Regional, Municipal and District Directors are therefore, urged to work closely with WAEC officials for the successful conduct of the examinations.

“I also appeal to the Security Agencies to assist all stakeholders in the examinations to curb any form of leakage.

“I wish to entreat all supervisors and invigilators to ensure that the needed serene atmosphere is created at all times during the examinations.

I wish you all good luck and God’s guidance throughout the examinations.“
