New Brong Ahafo Regional Minister sworn into office

President John Agyekum Kufuor on Wednesday swore, Nana Kwadwo Seinti, a 62-year-old Commercial Farmer into office as the new Brong Ahafo Regional Minister.

He swore the oaths of Minister of State, Allegiance and Secrecy.

Administering the oaths, President Kufuor said the region was large, constituted a major food basket for the country and rich in both human and natural resources, which should be brought to bear on the development of country.

He said the government, being peace-loving, abhors violence of all forms and appealed to the new Regional Minister to ensure that all disturbances and confusions were resolved amicably.

President Kufuor said with its varied ethnic groups Nana Seinti should ensure they become law-abiding.

He said the basic infrastructural needs of the region that shares a common border with Cote d'Ivoire was a priority area of the government and efforts would be made to improve upon them.

President Kufuor called on Nana Seinti to report regularly to the government on all issues and monitor activities of District Chief Executives (DCE's) in the region and submit regular reports on their activities and conduct to government.

Nana Seinti pledged to live up to expectation to improve on the living standards of the people.

He said with the varied ethnic groups in the region, counselling would be the cornerstone of his administration to solve problems and enhance good governance and development in the region.

Nana Seinti, former Akyempimhene of the Duayaw Nkwanta Traditional Area, abdicated on March 14,this year, to take up the new appointment.

He was also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tano District Health Insurance Scheme.

Nana Seinti, a father of five holds a Bachelor of Science (Administration) from the University of Ghana.
