New Edubiase (Ash), Sept 1, GNA- An appeal has been made to the Ministry of Health (MOH) to get more doctors and other health staff to man the district hospital at New Edubiase. Work on the physical upgrading of the hospital is almost completed.

Mr Dominic A.K. Yeboah, the District Chief Executive for Adansi South, who made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Tuesday, said at the moment there is only one doctor working at the hospital.

He said the government was helping to facelift the capital of the district through the surfacing of roads in the town. On health, the DCE said apart from the government hospital and the clinics at Obonsu, Akutreso and Ataase-Nkwanta, the Assembly was putting up clinics and health centres to cater for the health needs of the people.

Mr Yeboah was happy that there were a number of interventions going on in the district, which were supporting the development of the area in terms of schools, water and sanitation and health.

He said another area, which the assembly would tackle, was the development of agriculture so that enough revenue could be generated in that sector.

On roads, he said a programme to reshape and gravel most of them was in progress.
