New Edubiase to get District Police Headquarters complex

New Edubiase (Ash), Dec 26, GNA - The Government is to build the Adansi East District Police Headquarters at New Edubiase, Mr Dominic Yeboah, District Chief Executive, who announced this, said work on the project would commence early next year.

He was speaking at an end-of-year get-together and award ceremony organised for the staffs of the District Assembly at New Edubiase on Tuesday.

The DCE, who did not disclose the amount involved in the project, said the decision to build the headquarters was as a result persistent calls and appeals by the Police to the Assembly for permanent buildings. Mr Yeboah said the assembly would do everything possible to strengthen security in the District, particularly as the country enters an election year.

He said the assembly was planning to purchase a bus, which would convey workers to work on time to enhance productivity, noting that the present situation where some workers stayed far away and came to work late was not very healthy.

Mr Paul Odame Badu, the District Co-ordinating Director, expressed dissatisfaction with the massive transfer, which hit the Assembly and said while the staff affected by the transfers in the District had left for their new stations, those to replace them had not reported. Mr Badu, therefore, appealed to the Head of Civil Service to ensure that those transferred to the District reported.

Five staffs of the Assembly received awards for their dedication to duty. They were: Mr Kwaku Nfanti of the Environmental Unit; Mr Shaibu Mamprusi, a Watchman; Madam Helena Gyamera and Madam Roberta Attaa, both Typists and Mr Nuhu Iddrisu, a Messenger.

Three of the award winners were presented with gas stoves and cylinders while Shaibu received a sound system.
