Koforidua, Oct 21, GNA-The New Juaben Census Secretariat says it has achieved about 95 per cent coverage in the enumeration exercise contrary to reports that many people had not been enumerated. According to Mr Abakah Ansah, the Municipal Statistician, in an interview with GNA, it was left with pockets of households which by the nature of their settlements had been difficult for the enumerators to reach.

He mentioned areas like Densuano, Asokore-Kuma, Nyamekrom, Suhyen-Mpaem and Mpeam and said because of the nature of their settlements and the rains, it had been difficult for the field officers to cover but measures have been taken to ensure that by Friday all of those areas would have been covered. According to him, over 200 enumeration areas out of the 252 had been fully covered and therefore most of the enumerators had been re-assigned to the difficult areas to ensure that the exercise was fully completed by Friday.

He commended the public for the cooperation offered so far, mentioning specifically the feed back and assured all those who had not been counted yet to be patient since all of them would be covered by Friday.

Some of the enumerators who shared their experience with GNA said but for the provision of Wellington boots and rain coats, they could not have covered even half of the population in their enumeration areas because of the intermittent rains and the bushy nature of some areas. They recounted how they had come "face to face" with poisonous snakes and other dangerous animals and hoped that the final payment of their allowances would be made soon to make up for difficult time they have had.
