Kusi (E/R), May 13, GNA - Nana Ntiamoah Kusi Boadu 11, the new chief of Akyem Kusi, on Wednesday called on his people to forget about the bitterness and rancour of the immediate past and forge ahead in peace and unity.

Speaking at his outdooring at Kusi, he said no town or society thrived on disunity and confusion.

He said he had come to unite all the people, to heal the wounds of the past and mobilize the people for progress and development. Nana Ntiamoah Kusi Boadu succeeded Nana Akesse Appiah 11 who was destooled in September last year following his arrest on suspicion of involvement in the suspected murder of Nana Nketia Tenadu 111, his predecessor.

Nana Tenadu, who had abdicated five years earlier, was found dead in the Birim River and it was initially thought to be a case of drowning but autopsy of the body proved otherwise. Following the arrest of Nana Akesse and others, the town's people hailed the action and subsequently destooled him. Nana Ntiamoah Kusi Boadu pledged to serve his people with honesty and in humility and offer an open administration and called for co-operation of all the people.

He said he would however not tolerate filth and unsanitary conditions since they bred disease and suffering and asked criminals and those with criminal intentions to reform or be exposed and dealt with according to the law. He said he would support education that an education fund would be launched to assist brilliant but needy pupils and students.
