Kyebi (E/R), Mar. 3, GNA - The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Sam Prempeh has urged politicians to conduct their electioneering campaign peacefully by not attacking personalities but concentrate on the policy options they have for the country.

He also asked them to avoid "promising heavens" to their electorate but talk about what they can do to improve their standard of living. Rt. Rev. Prempeh was preaching at a Church service during which he inducted the Rev. Ernest Kwaku Oworae Dakwa into office as the new Akyem Abuakwa Presbytery Chairman at Kyebi on Sunday.

The Rev. Dr. Charles Gyan-Duah, Clerk of the General Assembly of the Church, assisted him.

Rt. Rev. Prempeh expressed concern that some people in authority ignored local talents and rather looks up to foreigners as the better experts who could implement local projects.

He stressed the need for people to accept and respect their fellow human beings "created in similar image of God", instead of looking down on them, no matter their achievements and position in society. Rev. Dakwa who was the former District Minister for Dansoman, in Accra pledged to lead the Presbytery with dedication in discharge of service to merit the confidence reposed in him. He appealed for peace and unity among the members in the area and called for unflinching support from them to enable them do the work of God creditably. Mar. 3, 04
