President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated that the newly constructed classrooms for St. Barnabas Anglican School are not just buildings but spaces of possibilities where dreams are nurtured and talents are discovered.

According to the President, the project is part of his government’s broader vision to provide every child with access to an environment that inspires learning and ambition, regardless of their background.

Speaking during the commissioning of the classroom block on Thursday, November 21, President Akufo-Addo highlighted the importance of education in transforming lives and communities, emphasizing the critical role of such infrastructure in shaping the future of young Ghanaians. He said the new classrooms symbolize a renewed commitment to delivering quality education and opening doors to opportunities and brighter futures for students.

St. Barnabas Anglican School, which has served as a prominent educational institution in Accra for over six decades, had experienced years of neglect, leading to a decline in its infrastructure. The commissioning of the new classroom block marks a significant step in revitalizing the school and ensuring its legacy as a center of academic excellence.

President Akufo-Addo expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders who contributed to the successful completion of the project. He particularly commended the Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, for his dedication to improving the educational landscape in Ghana. He also acknowledged the efforts of contractors, local leaders, assembly members, teachers, parents, and the headmaster of the school.

The President noted that the school’s proximity to the Ministry of Education highlighted the urgency of addressing its challenges.
