The Ho-Central Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at its Delegates Congress in Ho on Saturday, "overhauled" its executives, retaining only the Secretary, Mr Theophilus Foli, a Teacher.
Mr Seth Anyadi, 64, a Building Contractor, was elected unanimously as the new Chairman when the three other contestants stepped down at the last minute.
Mr Geoffrey Quarshie-Dzomeku, 49; a Housekeeper was also returned unopposed as the First Vice-Chairman while Mr Seth Ohene-Frimpong, 38, a Chemist got all the 85 votes against Mr George Panku, a Businessman, to win the position of Second Vice-Chairman.
Others elected were Mr Robert Tegah, 28, an Accountant, Assistant Secretary, Ms Queen Amesu, 43, a Stenographer Secretary, Treasurer, Mr Francis Awi, 30, Businessman, Youth Organiser, Veronica Anai, Women's Organiser and Nicholas Abotsi, Organiser.
The elections were supervised by a team from the Ho District Office of the Electoral Commission led by Mr Robert Atamah, District Electoral Officer.
Mr Rex Fafa Dogoe, a Party Activist told the delegates, some of whom broke into shouts of "we shall replace them" to regard the appearance of new faces as a trend that would sweep the whole region.
He expressed regret that Mr Mawutor Goh, Ho District Chief Executive and other party stalwarts in the district and the region did not attend the Congress.
Earlier Mr Innocent Kodzo Dei, representing the Interim Executives, as a result of a recent vote of no confidence in the old executive, said the elections were the beginning of a new assertiveness of the rank and file of the Party in the region.
Mr Kwame Atta, Regional Secretary of the Party, who was the only Regional Executive present swore in the new officers saying the NPP had a constitution, which imposes sanctions for indiscipline.
There was a visible security presence before and during the congress led by Mr Nicholas Blewushie, District Police Commander.
The congress was scheduled for March 29, this year, but was cancelled by the Regional Secretariat of the Party because all the Regional Executives were engaged elsewhere and could not attend as required by the Party constitution.
