Atibie (E/R), Dec. 27, GNA - Nine deliveries took place at the Holy Family and the Kwahu Government Hospitals on Christmas day at Nkawkaw and Atibie in the Kwahu South and West District respectively. They were made up of six males and three females. The Holy Family Hospital recorded five births, four males and a female, while the Kwahu Government hospital recorded four made up of two males and two females.
One of them, who was delivered through caesarean section died, as it was pre-matured at the Kwahu Government Hospital, while the other eight babies are doing well.
Speaking to Ghana News Agency in an interview, the Principal Superintendent In-charge of the labour ward at the Kwahu Government Hospital, Mrs Elizabeth Oware-Antwi advised pregnant women to register with the National Health Insurance Scheme to ensure affordable health delivery system.
She said most women, who delivered at the hospital have not registered with Okwahuman Health Insurance Scheme and therefore find it difficult to settle their bills after delivery.
