Nkawie (Ash), Feb 15, GNA - The Nkawie Secondary/Technical School Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) has purchased a 230- million-cedi 55-seater bus for the school.

It will convey day students and staff to and from the school. The school already has a 38-seater Benz bus bought by the PTA about two years ago.

Mr Prince Aguri Amanfo, Headmaster of the school, said this when he led Mr Eddy Obeng-Darko, the Atwima District Director of Education, to inspect the new bus at Nkawie on Monday.

Mr Amanfo said the acquisition of the bus would alleviate the plight of the day students and the staff who commute daily from Kumasi and its environs to attend classes.

He expressed the school's gratitude to the PTA for its immense support and contributions towards the improvement of infrastructure and other facilities in the school.

Mr Obeng-Darko praised the school's authorities and the staff for maintaining discipline and moral virtues in the school and this has improved its academic standard.

Mr Baffour Asare-Bediako, an Assistant Director of Education at the Atwima District Education Directorate who is the chairman of the Board of Governors of the school, attributed the school's discipline and academic achievements to the selflessness, foresight, initiative and leadership qualities of the headmaster and staff and urged them to keep it up.
