Wagadougu (B/A), Sept. 29, GNA - Mr Hayford Francis Amoako, Member of Parliament for Nkoranza, has called on the people to initiate self-help programmes to attract the government and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to support them.
He was addressing the people of Wagadougu and Koforidua-Baabiani as part of his tour of the constituency to interact with them and to assess on-going development projects.
The MP advised them to bury their political differences and forge ahead in unity so that they could jointly share ideas to promote development in the area.
He asked them to refrain from land and chieftaincy disputes which he said, has adverse effect on development.
Mr Amoako urged Assembly Members to interact with their electorate and to submit their grievances to the District Assembly to address the issues.
At Koforidua-Baabiani, Mr George Ampienti, Assembly Member for the area expressed gratitude to the MP for donating three million cedis in support of a borehole project to solve the water problem in the area and appealed to the Nkoranza District Assembly to provide the people with a 20-seater septic tank toilet to enhance sanitation.
The Assembly Member called for the provision of 10 low-tension electricity poles for extension of power to the newly developed parts of the town.
Mallam Musa Sulemana, Regent of Wagadougu, appealed for the establishment of a primary school in the town to save children in the area from travelling long distances to attend school.
