Nkusukum chiefs commend Asamoah-Boateng

Saltpond, Nov. 17, GNA - The Chiefs of Nkusukum Traditional Area in the Mfantseman Municipality, have commended Mr. Stephen Asamoah-Boateng, Minister of Information and National Orientation, for his contribution to the development of the area.

Nana Ataapim Kweenu VIII, Omankrado of the area, who made the commendation on behalf of the chiefs at a meeting at Saltpond at the weekend, said the Minister has brought development projects to the people unprecedented in the history of the area.

The Omanhene said Mr. Asamoah-Boateng, who is also Member of Parliament (MP) for Mfantseman West, said water and electricity which used to be perennial problems facing the people now belonged to the past due to the untiring efforts of the minister.

Nana Kweenu, who is the Presiding Member of the Municipal Assembly, said Mr. Asamoah-Boateng has also worked hard to improve roads and provided many educational infrastructures to enhance education in the area.

The Omanhene expressed satisfaction that there existed cordial relationship between Mr. Asamoah-Boateng and the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Robert Quainoo-Arthur, which facilitated development in the area.

Nana Kweenu said Mr. Asamoah-Boateng assisted some youth to acquire technical and vocational skills and provided tools and capital for them to start their own economic activities.

Nana Ataapim Kweenu said a lot of students benefited from a scholarship scheme initiated by the Minister and he also saw to the renovation of the Mankessim market and beautification of Mankesim round about.

The Omanhene urged Mr. Asamoah-Boateng to continue with his good plans for the area if retained as MP.
