Nkwanta MP spends 95 million on projects

Nkwanta, April 26, GNA- Mr Geshon Kofi Gbediame, Member of Parliament (MP) for Nkwanta-South, has expended 95 million cedis of his share of the MP'S Common Fund on various development projects between August 2006 and March 2007.

He said the projects included the provision of streetlights at some suburbs of Nkwanta, water and sanitation facilities at Obanda, Dogoketewa, Chaiso and Nkwanta.

Mr. Gbediame, who disclosed these in an interview with the GNA at Nkwanta, said 56 students were being supported to enable them to complete their education to raise the standards of education in the area.

The MP also said 20 sets of jerseys and footballs were distributed to football clubs in the various towns in the constituency. Mr. Gbediame said the youth should be assisted to identify and develop their talents in soccer to enable them bring honour to the constituency.

He therefore, urged the people to form a formidable team to that can win competitions and represent the area in the national league. In a related development, Mr. Gbediame during a tour of the constituency announced that he was liasing with the relevant authorities to improve the low level of girl enrolment in schools in the Nkwanta District.

The tour took the MP to Nyambong, Nyambong-Junction, Abrewankor, Dogoketewa, Bonakye, Kabiti, Agoufie, Nyakoma, Dawa Akura, Portripor and Mangoase.
