Effutu Nsuekyir (C/R), Sept. 15, GNA - The Government has awarded on contract, the tarring of the Winneba-Sankor junction-Nsuekyir-Ojobi in the Effutu-Awutu-Senya District of the Central Region to make travelling on the road safe and comfortable. The District Chief Executive for the area, Mr Solomon Abam-Quaye, who announced this at a durbar of the chief and people of the Effutu Nsuekyir to round off their annual Akumase festival, appealed to the people in the area to cooperate with the contractor to ensure the early completion of the road.

He expressed regret about the haphazard manner in which some buildings were being put up in some communities in the district. The DCE said very soon a task force would be sent out to demolished all buildings and structures built without permits and therefore, appealed to the people in the area to desist from such habit. He also appealed to the people to vote for candidates, who would be able to lead them to develop their communities. The Regent of the town, Nana Annorful, urged his people to bury their differences and come together as one body to ensure the rapid development of the town.

He was grateful that peace was returning to the town and this had made possible for the peaceful celebration of the festival. The Regent expressed his gratitude to the government and Plan Ghana, an NGO for the construction of schools and toilets in the town. The Queen mother of the town, Nana Nyadom Ababio V, appealed to the Government to provide the town with a health post. 15 Sept. 06
