Numo Kofi Okassa Diaka II, the Wulomo of the Ga traditional area in Abese, has urged Ga traditional leaders to support health delivery in the country, particularly at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

Speaking at the launch of Korle-Bu’s Health Fest on August 28, 2024, he emphasized the importance of the hospital's excellence to the status of the Ga traditional council and leadership.

"As custodians of the Ga land, the success of Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital adds value to our status. Therefore, all chiefs must join hands to support the hospital to ensure effective and efficient health delivery," Numo Kofi Okassa Diaka II stated.

He praised the leadership of Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah, the Chief Executive Officer of Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, dismissing recent rumors of mismanagement.

"Dr. Ampomah, being an indigene of Korle-Bu, understands the challenges the health facility has faced over the years and is well-equipped to provide solutions," he explained.

Highlighting the significance of the hospital to the Ga state, he added, "Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital occupies a vast plot of our land. As custodians, we need to support the health facility because its success is our success. Health is crucial, and supporting healthcare is essential."

The Health Fest, part of the hospital’s centenary celebrations, aims to showcase Korle-Bu’s activities to the public. The exhibition, which began on August 28, will continue until August 30, 2024.
