The Nungua ‘Mantse’ King Odaifio Welentsi III has through his lawyers written to caution a certain Sharif Bortei Disco of Spintex Road who is suspected to be threatening and challenging prospective tenants over lands granted by the Chief which falls under the latter’s control and authority.

In a letter signed by Lawyer Oliver Atsu Abada for Abada & Co. law firm and on behalf of King Odaifio Welentsi III, it said “our client who doubles as the Nungua Mantse as well as the President of the Nungua Traditional Council is the sole signatory as head lessor of all lands under the Nungua Stool.”

“Our client has had cause to suspect that in recent time you have been challenging the grants made to prospective tenants on lands under his control.

You equally have taken it upon yourself even though you have no traditional authority or customary authority to demise land to be issuing forged documents to unsuspecting tenants to the detriment of Nungua Stool”, the statement noted.

Lawyer Atsu Abada indicated that as the occupant of the Nungua Paramount Stool, Nii Odaifio Welensti III is the only proper and customarily approved individual to institute or defend any suits in respect of all lands under the Nungua Stool “but without you(Sharif Bortei Disco) being given any such power by our client(King), you have arrogated unto yourself such power and have been instituting actions purportedly in the name of Nungua Stool without his consent, approval or knowledge.

Indeed, on the pretext of protecting the interest of the stool, you have been defrauding unsuspecting people of their monies which eventually leads to embarrassment of the Stool and its occupant.”

It said, “our client is especially worried that when problems associated with such false transactions arise in course of processing of such documents, he is the one whom such issues are traced eventually regardless of the fact that he had no knowledge of such transactions to start with.”

Lawyer Abada however cautioned the general public especially the judicial service saying; “Our client is aware of the numbers of cases he has instructed his lawyers to either institute for and on behalf of the stool. We shall entreat you to take steps to dismiss such letters with alleged forged signatures or hold onto their processing while we engage the appropriate authorities to fish out the culprits.”

The following offices were copied officially for record purposes; The Inspector General of Police, The Director CID, Property Fraud Unit, King Odaifio Welentsi III, The Registrar of Nungua Traditional Council and the Judicial Secretary.
