Accra, Jan. 15, GNA - The Nungua Traditional Council on Thursday congratulated President John Evans Atta Mills on his assumption to the high office of the Presidency. A release signed by Odehe Kpakpa King Odaifio Welentsi III, President of the Council, said it was their hope that President Atta Mills would initiate moves to reconcile the sharp political divisions created before, during and after the just-ended elections. "We believe that we can best develop our beloved nation in an atmosphere of peace, unity and tranquillity," it said. The statement pledged the full support and co-operation of its elders and people towards the achievement of any laudable objectives the new government might have. It requested a continuation of the release of all Ga lands to the Ga state as initiated by the former administration. It pledged support for the chieftaincy institution for it to enhance the collective collaboration of chiefs and traditional leaders in national growth and development. 15 Jan. 09
