Nwase raises 6.5 million cedis for development

Nwase (Ash), April 14, GNA- The chiefs and people of Nwase near Asante-Mampong have raised 6.5 million cedis towards water and extension of electricity projects during an Easter fund-raising harvest on Sunday. Development levies of resident male citizens paying 20,000 cedis while non-resident males to paying 50,000 cedis.

Resident females are paying 10,000 cedis while non-residents are paying 20,000 cedis.

The people commended Nana Agyei Duku, the Nkosuohene of the Mampong traditional area and a citizen of the town for his immense contributions towards the development of the area.

Nana Duku, who is the Managing Director of Ghana Union Assurance Company Limited, has been credited with single-handedly financing the construction of a borehole fitted with a pump for the town. Mr Osei Bempah, a former assemblyman for Penteng/Nwase, said besides the projects, the Nkosuohene has also endeared himself to the people by his sensitivity to the plight of the needy in society and urged him to sustain it.
