The Managing Director of Nyame Sunsum, a mining firm in the Ashanti Region, Samuel Osei, has donated 1,000 exercise books to the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation.

Mr. Osei also presented over 500 mathematical sets and boxes of pens to the foundation.

The gesture, according to the renowned miner, was to support the 2024 edition of the Otumfuo Community Reading Challenge, an initiative by the foundation to educate students in the country.

The books were, however, branded to signify the 25th anniversary of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Presenting the books on Monday, May 27, 2024, Mr. Osei said the gesture formed part of the company's vision to support the vulnerable in society in areas such as accessing good education and health, among others.

He added that although the foundation has done a lot of corporate social responsibility activities to support communities in the country, supporting the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation was a good cause.

He commended the Asantehene for his vision for the country and called on all to support the various initiatives of the foundation.

Receiving the books, the Head of Education, Culture, and Heritage at the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation, Kwabena Owusu Ababio, thanked the company for the gesture.

He, however, pledged the foundation's commitment to improving the living standards of the vulnerable in the country.

He added that the foundation would ensure equal learning opportunities and support the education of children from pre-school age through adolescence.

Mr. Ababio also commended all stakeholders supporting the foundation's various outreach programs.

According to him, the foundation is bent on making lives better for Ghanaians, particularly those in rural areas, by providing a platform for good education, health, and sanitation, among others.
