Nzuleso (W/R) April 19, GNA - Mr Francis Ackah, Regent of Nzuleso, has appealed to the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Jomoro district assembly, to liase and send them additional teachers to mane their six-classroom school. Making the appeal through the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Nzuleso on Easter Monday, Mr Ackah said the school currently had three teachers and this was woefully inadequate.
He said currently two classes had been combined to enable teachers to cater for the children. Mr. Ackah said the combination of classes was not facilitating teaching and learning and appealed to the GES, the Jomoro district assembly and the National Service Secretariat (NSS) to send additional personnel to assist them.
He said children from Nzuleso were educated only up to class six on the island community after which they continued their Junior and Senior Secondary education at Beyin and other surrounding towns. Mr. Ackah said this had made many children loose interest in furthering their education.
He appealed to philanthropists, individuals and Non-government organisations (NGOs) to come to the aid of the community, to improve its educational infrastructure. 19 April 06
