Akyem Osino, Dec. 18, GNA - The Parent /Teacher Association (PTA) of Osino Presbyterian Secondary Technical School in the Fanteakwa District, has been called upon to devise measures for raising the standard of education in the school.

They have also been asked to maintain a high standard of discipline so that the little resources available could be utilized effectively to move the school forward.

The chairman of the association, Mr Emmanuel Antwi, who made the call at the PTA's meeting at Osino on Saturday, urged the parents to show much concern about the imitation of foreign culture adopted by their wards like dressing, smoking, drinking, sexual abuse and other immoral acts that tended to militate against their academic advancement. He said parents should pay periodic visits to the school to learn more about their wards and assist the Guidance and Counselling Unit to address the downward trend of their wards' behaviour.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr Kwadjo Acheampong-Sakyi, called on parents to assist in the construction of a girls' hostel, payment of school fees and purchasing textbooks for their wards.
