Offinso (Ash), April 7, GNA- Some Youngsters at Offinso in Ashanti have appealed to Mr Joseph Kwasi-Kumah, a former District Chief Executive to contest for the parliamentary seat of the Offinso South constituency. The youth were from communities including Maase, Kokote, Mpehin, Buasi, and Abuasu.

A spokesman of the youth, Mr Joshua Ampong-Abrefah, told newsmen on Tuesday that Mr Kwasi Kumah is "dedicated and selfless politician who can bring development, honour and dignity to Offinso".

They, therefore, appealed to him to contest the Offinso South parliamentary seat on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to enable him to continue with his developmental agenda.

"During the few years in office before 2000 general elections, Mr Kwasi Kumah executed numerous development projects including the Offinso streetlights and construction of some major streets in the area, put up health, educational and economic infrastructure which significantly improved the living standard of the people".

Mr Ampong-Abrefah said Mr Kwasi Kumah was contracted by the Offinso district assembly as a consultant and drew the Offinso district development plan, which he pursued its implementation when he was appointed the DCE in 1998.

This manifested in the rapid and meaningful expansion of the socio-economic development of the area, he said. 7 April 04
