Kumasi, Jan 05, GNA - Mr Francis Ampadu, assembly member for Old Tafo Ahenbronum in the Kumasi metropolis, has called on the people in the electoral area to eschew apathy and divisiveness so as to help quicken the pace of the area's development.

He said unity, initiative and drive were crucial elements for the progress of any human society.

"It is against this background that as a people it is important that we put aside our individual differences and collectively accept to work together to find solutions to the socio-economic inadequacies of our area".

Mr Ampadu was speaking at a forum held to review development activities of the area within the last two years.

He said during the period, the area enjoyed a fair share of development as evidenced from the improvement of some roads, provision of streetlights, the building of a classroom block, installation of telephone booths and the renovation of some sanitary facilities.

Within the next two years, a number of development projects have been lined up for implementation and these would include the completion of a market, construction of a library and the building of a police station.

Mr Ampadu said a fire station would also be built.
