Tepa (Ash), Sept.17, GNA - Nana Adusei Atwenewa Ampem, Omanhene of the Tepa traditional area has called on Real Estate Developers to extend their operations to the area where acute accommodation problems posed a big challenge to public officials posted there to work. He has already pledged the readiness of the traditional council to release large tracts of land to prospective estate developers under very friendly and moderate terms. The Omanhene, who was speaking to newsmen at his palace at Tepa on Tuesday said, the population of the area is rapidly growing, resulting in the fast expansion of its size due to its strategic location as a gateway to Tano South, North, Ahafo Ano South all in the Ashanti Region as well as Asutifi and Asunafo districts of the Brong Ahafo Region. Nana Atwenewa Ampem said the construction of estates will help address accommodation problems which have been compounded by the fact that most workers of Newmont Mining Company in the Asutifi district have decided to live in Tepa for reasons of convenience and proximity. He said Tepa now has a reliable supply of utilities - electricity and water and can boast of four banking institutions, a senior secondary school and a number of good basic schools. The Omanhene therefore, entreated the Ministry of Works and Housing and Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) to respond positively to his appeal to help develop the area and curb the Rural-Urban migration.
