Mpraeso(E/R), Sept. 29, GNA - The Royal Netherlands Embassy through the World Health Organization(WHO) and the Eastern Regional Co-ordinating Council(RCC) have distributed a quantity of educational materials and some amount of money to 300 orphans and needy but brilliant school children in the Eastern Region. The beneficiary children received school bags, pairs of sandals and some amount of money to settle their school fees. Presenting the items to five needy but brilliant second year students at Mpraeso Senior High School at Mpraeso, the Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Kwadwo Afram Asiedu advised students and basic school children, who benefitted from the package, to study hard for them to achieve their future objective.
He urged them to concentrate on their studies, to enable them pass their examination, for them to become responsible adults, to contribute towards the country's development.
The headmaster of the school, Mr George Agyarey, thanked the Regional Minister for extending the package to the needy students in the school and expressed the hope that the beneficiary students would make effective use of the items. He advised parents to co-operate with the school authorities for them to come out with quality students, who could further their education at the tertiary level, for them to take up responsibly positions in the country in future.
