Over 25 farming communities in the Upper Manya Krobo District of the Eastern region have been cut off following torrential rainfall in the area.
The rains has caused river Prekunase which connects the farming communities to overflow its bank.
Reports from the communities also suggest that parts of the Sekesua to Terguanya road has been washed away making it impossible for vehicles to ply the road.
The Upper Manya Krobo District has recorded heavy rainfall everyday since last Wednesday.
Water level in the Volta River continues to rise flooding the the only viable market center located along the shores of the river .
The Upper Manya District Director of NADMO,Samuel Akor who spoke to Starr News Kojo Ansah said the situation is deplorable.
