Shama (W/R), Nov. 1, GNA - The Presiding Member for Shama, Mr. Joseph Anohwafo Arthur, has said the assembly would need the contributions and experiences of ex-assembly members to propel it to a greater height. He said those who would not make it to the second assembly should continue to remain opinion leaders in their electoral areas.

"We should not recoil into our shells because we have a repertoire of knowledge far as local governance is concerned which we must put at the disposal of the public", Mr. Arthur said at the last meeting of the Shama Assembly at Shama on Monday.

The assemblies are being dissolved to pave way for district assembly election in December. He said the contributions of ex-assembly members would be invaluable to the socio-economic development of the district and called for peace and harmony in the district.

Ms Emelia Arthur, District Chief Executive for Shama, called for violence free election in the forthcoming District Level elections slated for December 28. "We hope that we shall have competent and dedicated people elected for a continued development of the district," she said.
