Kumasi, Dec 24, GNA-The Ashanti Regional Secretariat of the Progressive Transport Owners Association (PROTOA), has sent Christmas and New Year messages to its members, passengers and the general public. Mr Ambrose Appiah, National Vice-Chairman of PROTOA who sent the messages through the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi on Friday, asked drivers to reflect on the major causes of accidents during the yuletide and strive to be more careful.
He advised them to make the safety of passengers their pre-occupation by avoiding overtaking, over-loading and drunkenness. Mr Appiah said it was the hope of the Association that government would allocate more resources to train and equip drivers with the requisite skills to help reduce the spate of road accidents in 2005. He urged Ghanaians to contribute meaningfully towards the socio-economic advancement of the country as they enter the New Year.
