Kumasi, Nov 08, GNA - The Parent-Teacher-Association (PTA) of the Kumasi T.I. Ahmadiyya Secondary School (AMASS) has, through special levies on parents, realized a total of 585 million cedis for the purchase of two buses for the school.

The amount was realized through special levies of 100,000 cedis per parent for three terms.

An amount of 470 million cedis was used to buy a 54-seat bus for the school while the remaining 118 million cedis would be used to buy a mini bus.

Mr Thomas Kwesi Owusu, an executive member of the school's PTA, said this at a ceremony held in Kumasi on Tuesday to hand over keys of the 54-seat bus to the school.

Mr Y.K. Agyare, the Headmaster of AMASS, was full of praise for the PTA for their assistance not only in the provision of transport for the school but also its support for development of various projects in the school.

He appealed to the association not to end its assistance at providing the buses but also go beyond that to help in their maintenance in view of the colossal cost involved in maintaining vehicles.
