Nchaban (W/R), June 7, GNA - The Parents-Teacher-Association (PTA) of Sekondi College (SECO) at Nchaban, near Sekondi has completed a two-unit-masters' flats and 20-seater aqua-privy toilet for the school at the total cost of 460 million cedis.

The provision of the facilities is as the result of the determination of the association to complement government's efforts to improve infrastructure development and to provide the desired environment to enhance teaching and learning in the school.

Reverend John Wesley Acquah, Chairman of the association told the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday that apart from these projects, the PTA had spent more than 600 million cedis over the past four years to provide equipment and facilities for the school.

They include a clinic and three-bedroom quarters for a Nurse, a computer laboratory with 30 computers and accessories, expansion of the girls' dormitory, furnishing of the staff common room and four poly-tanks for storage of water.

Rev. Acquah said the PTA has initiated a three billion cedis six-flat masters bungalow to ease acute accommodation problems facing teachers of the school.

The school, which has a population of 1,450 students including 500 girls moved to its present site from two previous sites at Ekuasi, near Sekondi and a location at Takoradi.

The PTA Chairman said this had brought in its wake a number of difficulties, particularly inadequate infrastructure facilities for the school.

He, therefore, appealed for support from the Shama Ahanta East Metropolitan Assembly and other stakeholders to come to the aid of the school.
