Fomena (Ash), Jan 18, GNA - The Adansi Traditional Council has started building a palace estimated at over 500 million cedis for the Adansihemaa.

More than 400 million cedis have so far been spent on the project that has four bedrooms, a hall, a stool room, a big meeting place, kitchen and bath, toilet facility, a store and a garage. Mr E.A. Asante, the Assistant Regional Registrar of the council, said it was designed not only to give the traditional area a befitting palace for the Adansihemaa but also to help the council to accommodate the numerous people who would visit Fomena for the burial of Nana Ofori Agyeman II, the Adansihene, who died in July last year.

He said the project was being carried out alongside the renovation of the Bonsra Afriyie Palace where the body of the Omanhene would be laid.

Mr Asante said the projects were being funded from the Council's mineral royalties with support from organizations and individuals including AngloGold Ashanti, Mining and Building Construction (MBC) at Obuasi, M. Barbisoti and Sons and some timber firms.
