Oyoko (E/R), Oct. 27, GNA - The Bishop of Koforidua Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church, the Right Reverend Charles Palmer-Buckle, has urged married couples to let their marriages be spiritually inclined to ensure peaceful and loving homes.

He gave the advice at a mass wedding for 16 couples at the St Michael's Catholic Church at Oyoko in the New Juaben Municipality on Sunday.

Rt. Rev. Palmer-Buckle asked people to desist from contracting their marriages at funerals and festivals, noting that such marriages are short lived and full of troubles that engender divorce.

Weddings that have spiritual backing would make couples understand themselves better and love themselves, he added.

Bishop Palmer-Buckle, who is a member of the National Reconciliation Commission (NRC), told the congregation that the Commission was not established to intimidate anybody and urged Christians to pray unceasingly for the peaceful reconciliation of the country.

He said the NRC process was not an overnight programme, adding that it would take some years to ensure a lasting peace and reconciliation for a better nation.
