Paramount Chief of Apesokubi appeals for more teachers

Nana Okogyeaman Asiedu Koram, Paramount Chief of Apesokubi Traditional Area, in the Biakoye District of Oti region, has appealed for more teachers to be posted to the area.

He said the lack of teachers in the area was making education unattractive and negatively affecting teaching and learning.

Nana Koram said this when he and his elders paid a courtesy call on Nana Owusu Yeboah, Oti Regional Minister at his residence at Dambai.

The Paramount Chief said the situation was dire in some remote communities and called for immediate intervention from stakeholders.

He said the area also needed a technical and vocational school and stated the readiness of the traditional area to release land for the construction of the school.

Nana Koram called for the fixing of the Apesokubi-Kadjebi road in addition to the construction of a police station at Apesokubi Traditional Area.

The Regional Minister said though the new region was saddled with several challenges, government was working unremittingly to ensure that the challenges were addressed to enhance rapid socio-economic development.

He assured the chiefs and his elders that their concerns would be addressed and called on them to support government to spearhead the aspirations of the people in the new region.
