Kasoa, Aug. 15, GNA - Dr Hanna Louisa Bisiw, Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, has stressed the need for parents to put in extra effort to educate their children because it is the best option for a secured future.
She said they should do everything possible to encourage their children and wards to study diligently in order for them to attain the highest level of education.
Speaking at the fifth graduation ceremony of the Help Child Academy at Kasoa, Dr Bisiw said every child, who enter school, must aimed at continuing and completing to the highest level. According to him, without education, a person was unable to appreciate life to its maximum.
"When it comes to contributing meaningfully to the socio-economic development of your country, the level and value of your education will certainly be called to play," she said.
The Deputy Minister said lack of or adequate education has denied many people of job opportunities and even those who get, received very low remuneration, thus making life unbearable for them. Dr Bisiw said a good education must lead to a good moral life noting it must promotes good character and good interpersonal relationship. She said imbibing good moral values in children should be a collaborative effort among parents, social and religious leaders and the school authorities.
Dr Bisiw advised the pupils and students of the academy to acquire good moral virtues and show respect to all manner of persons they came into contact with in order for them to be responsible adults in future. She also stressed the need to be disciplined and shun peer influence. The headmaster of the academy, Mr James Darkwa announced that the school placed second in a Science Quiz Competition organised for 20 schools in the district.
He appealed for support to enable the school put up a science laboratory and additional classrooms.
Philip Boateng, Proprietor of the school said 22 needy but bright children were receiving financial support. Prizes were given to all children who got promotion.
